The Weeknd had the Internet buzzing with the debut mixtape House of Balloons. Now, the 21 year old dude (who Drake took under their wing), follows up with Thursday, the second act in a trilogy (Echoes of Silence will follow in the fall). R&B’s new kids on the block pushes the genre to new heights with nine seductive tracks, including “The Zone” featuring Drizzy, that are bound to stay in heavy rotation. We can expect big things in the future.

"House Of Blues" - The Weeknd
At 10 p.m. last night, an emerging artist from Toronto released his inaugural project, House Of Balloons, and the high demand for it crashed his website. The music of Abel Tesfaye, otherwise known as The Weeknd, is new to almost everyone, but has been receiving a strong push from Drake via his Twitter and blog over the past month. While it may appear to be a simple case of 'big artist tries to put on unknown artist from the same hometown', The Weeknd's unique lo-fi, R&B sound stands out from the music of his mentor.
